The name Guapington was conceptualized in October of 2008.  Prior to that owner, Jhai Keeton had been building his enterprise since 2004.  He began his business ventures with an apparel company by the name of Authentic Dime Piece Collection in 2002.  ADPC became B.mek-International in 2004 and Keeton began traveling around the Southeastern region participating in various fashion shows within communities and on college campuses.

Around this same time he began to work with models to produce marketing and promotional items for the clothing brand.  Once the promo pieces went out, Keeton received a strong public response regarding the clothes and the models, thus he began to book the ladies for freelance jobs and Elite Class (E-Class) Models was created.

In the spring of 2005, while Jhai was a sophomore at Jackson State University, he began to coordinate and execute his own fashion shows.  This created a need for entertainment performances during show intermissions.  Keeton began to book talent to perform during the shows and grew fond of the music and work ethic of one particular artist, Lee SC.  After working with Lee for a few months, Keeton began to place him in shows and booking him as opening act for local concerts.  Lee eventually asked Keeton to play the role as his manager and essentially Real Music Management was created.

In an effort to market and promote various projects and shows the he would be working on, Jhai organized a street team that would distribute promotional items into the local markets.  Massive Promotions eventually grew to allow them to promote events aside from their own.  In the summer of 2007, after relocating to Washington, DC, Keeton teamed up with Derrick Brown to focus on helping fortune 500 companies take advantage of unique marketing opportunities within the entertainment industry.  To date, Massive Promotions has assisted R.E.M in coordinating and executing, The SuperParty (Superbowl after party in Glendale, AZ) and Casino Night for the Metropolitan Junior Baseball League. (40/40 in Manhattan)

Having all of these elements operating and growing to include designers, graphic artists, musicians, producers, photographers, models, seamstresses, embroiderers and screen printers, Keeton began to realize that he had 3 fully functional operations that complimented one another, but that could also function separately.  He initially named it Showtime Productions in 2006, but once he was ready to go public in 2008, he knew he would have to come with something more meaningful and unique, thus Guapington Enterprise was born!
