From a quick glimpse, Roy Farria’s 5’9, 185 pound frame and New Orleans demeanor wouldn’t scream “rapper”, but with his swift delivery, punch-lines and passion for hip-hop, those potential stereotypes are quickly pushed aside.
Growing up in Uptown New Orlean’s 13th Ward, the harsh realities of drugs, prostitution and death gave Roy Farria the motivation to push forward in not becoming another neighborhood statistic. With dreams of being a visual artist, his passion for depicting his surroundings with sketches was soon replaced with written verses.
